Yellow has been a pretty consistent colour in wedding colour palettes over the past couple years. From canary yellow to soft lemon, these different shades have been paired with lavender, white or a variety of citrus tones to create a muted colour scheme or a very bright one. But up to this point, mustard hasn’t quite featured in the events and weddings world…until now that is. As of late, mustard has been a strong contender in the world of interior design with furniture covered in mustard fabrics creating signature pieces in homes. The events industry is jumping on board and celebrating this confident colour.
Marble and grey have made waves in the design realm of late and with our project co-ordinator Claire’s love for mustard, it was only natural to combine the three. Metallics are still big in event styling so we wanted to incorporate this as well, it also brings in some texture to the overall look. The floral arrangements were created by Wildeflower with a focus on natural, wild and fresh. The idea behind the different concepts in this shoot was to focus on big and bold in direct contrast to bare and simple. In simple terms, choose a wow piece and don’t allow anything else to distract from it. Combine this with exquisite cutlery and crockery pieces and you have yourself a charming and modern wedding moodboard.
We particularly liked working with the bare table look with the use of gold candlesticks, but then pairing this with a substantial floral installation hanging above the tables. We also love the use of hanging table numbers, not only practical for your guests to find their seat, but it also opens the opportunity for brides to get really creative. Experimenting with charcoal, light grey and marble with brushed gold cutlery pieces, and gold-rimmed glassware had a fantastic result. Overall, this colour scheme works so well in any setting.

Until next time, stay stylish.
