Shannon and Stuart

Shannon and Stuart's garden wedding was one of breathtaking beauty! The magnificent Nooitgedacht Estate, surrounded by rolling vineyards & mountain vistas in Stellenbosch, was the perfect backdrop to tie the knot.

Shannon, originally from South Africa, and Stuart, from the UK, live together in Dubai. They were looking for a unique and beautiful location for their nuptials and they fell head over heels in love with Nooitgedacht Estate. Friends and family from all over the world travelled to be part of their wedding. The lush green garden with its towering trees set the scene for this memorable day.

To showcase the beauty of Nooitgedacht Estate‚Äôs surroundings, the couple chose to host almost every part of their wedding outdoors. Under clear sunny skies, guests gathered on the lawn for the outdoor ceremony. Shannon and Stuart exchanged their vows beneath an arch created by blush fabric draped between two magnificent Oak trees.

Following the ceremony, guests were invited to relax under the trees. A variety of lounge furniture was scattered on the lawn. Persian carpets were placed under trees with ample scatter cushions for guests to kick back and enjoy the sound of the talented Acoustic Element. Drinks were in abundance, with a wine bar or, if you preferred, a gin bar that offered guests a variety of local gins, tonics, and additional ingredients to spice up their drinks. One of the highlights was the vintage VW Kombi which was converted into a mobile bar that served French Champagne.

For the reception, the guests made their way down to the gravel avenue. Under a canopy of fairy lights stood two rows of wooden tables. They were draped with a beautiful blush runner and lush floral arrangements which were interspersed by rose gold candelabras and candlesticks. The bride and groom were announced as Mr. and Mrs. Caunt and chose to cut their cake before being seated under beautiful crystal chandeliers. A two-course plated meal was served for dinner, followed by a dessert buffet and, of course, wedding cake!

The bouquet toss was a memorable one, with the majority of the guests being in relationships or married, the bride and groom chose to do something a little different to the norm. The MC requested that all the married couples stand, he then asked that the couples remained standing if they were married for one year, then five years, continuing until there was only one couple left standing. The last couple standing would receive the bouquet. This fun twist to the bouquet toss featured Shannon's parents as the last couple standing!

As the evening progressed the guests moved indoors to the dance floor where the DJ kept the celebration going to all hours of the morning.
